No, he is not allowed to do that. During the first two years after purchase, the retailer has to look after your complaint even if the manufacturer has issued a warranty for the product. Within this 2-year period, you can demand exchange or repair from the retailer. If this does not work, you can reduce the price or cancel the purchase.

Transparent glass items are normally “dishwasher safe”. Decorated glass items should be better washed by hand. Lead glass items should also be better washed by hand, unless they are explicitly labelled as “dishwasher proof”.
There are around 4 500 glass, porcelain and ceramic items in our range. This means that it is not practical and indeed not possible to compile a catalogue of the entire range. However, with the help of the ‘Product search’ function, you can make a targeted search according to specific criteria (e.g. category of product, material, colour, theme etc.) and compile and view a personalised product list. Our catalogues do not contain any price information as we only supply specialist dealers and retailers. For price enquiries, please contact a dealer in your area. You will find our dealer search in the ‘Contact’ section. Individual leaflets are available to download in the ‘Product range/Catalogues’ section.
You will find downloads for various tableware products in the "Product range/Catalogue" section.
We are a wholesaler and therefore only supply customers in the specialist dealer and retail sectors. We do not have a factory shop for end customers. Please contact a dealer in your area. You will find our dealer search in the ‘Contact’ section.
We are a wholesaler and therefore only supply customers in the specialist dealer and retail sectors. We do not sell seconds for end customers in Bad Driburg.
You can enter the name of the set/range you are looking for in the ‘product search’ section of our website. If the name of the range is listed in the results then it is still available and can be supplied. Please contact a dealer in your area to re-order. You will find our dealers in the ‘Contact’ section. If the name of the range is not listed in the results then it is no longer available. Re-ordering in such cases is unfortunately no longer possible.
There are various ways of getting an overview of what we have on offer. If you are looking for a very specific set/range, enter the name in the ‘Product range/Product search’ section in the field “enter search term” or select it from the drop-down menu “select series name”. If you have a rough idea what you are looking for - material, brand, stlye, colour or category of product – then we would recommend you use the advanced search for the relevant criteria. You can also search according to several criteria at once (e.g. material = ‘ceramic’, colour = ‘brown’) to filter the selection of products in a targeted manner. In this case, please note that selecting too many criteria may mean there are no matches!
Please contact a dealer in your area for re-ordering and queries relating to delivery times. You will find our dealers in the ‘Contact’ section.

No. If the product has a defect, you can also complain without packaging. The receipt is important as proof with regard to where you have bought the defective product. If you have witnesses to confirm your purchase, you even to not need the receipt. The retailers can only insist on receipt and original packaging, if they take back or exchange faultless products on a good-will basis.

No. If the purchase has a defect, you can certainly exchange a price-reduced product on the basis of your statutory rights. With such a remark, the retailers refer to reduced products without defects: They will not exchange those on a good-will basis.

Everything depends on how the design has been applied to the porcelain. Plain white porcelain is, without exception, perfectly suited to cleaning in the dishwasher. Patterned porcelain is ‘dishwasher-safe’ if the design has been melted into the glaze (inglaze/underglaze design). In these cases, the glaze softens and the design sinks into the glaze. This means its colour and brilliance cannot be damaged; it is scratch-proof and abrasion-proof. However, the natural properties of gold mean that gold designs are not completely resistant to scratching. Patterned porcelain is ‘suitable for dishwashers’ if the design has been fired onto the glaze and not melted in (overglaze). The use of highly resilient paints creates such a strong bond with the glaze that the dishwasher does little harm to the design.
Please note that the following materials that might be components of an item are not dishwasher proof:
- plastic plugs e.g. of salt and pepper shakers, oil and vinegar bottles, storage vessels, etc.
- metal caps e.g. of milk bottles, storage vessels, etc.
- metal devices e.g. of tiered servers, storage vessels, etc.
- plastic caps e.g. of storage vessels, oil and vinegar bottles, jugs, storage vessels, cocktail shakers, etc.
- silicone caps e.g. of coffee to go mugs, etc.
- cork plugs and caps e.g. of oil and vinegar bottles, storage vessels, etc.
- rubber seals e.g. of storage vessels, etc.
- other materials/accessories e.g. candles, decoration nuggets, etc.
If you are not sure, please wash the items by hand.
These are not flaws in the porcelain or glaze but perfectly normal signs of wear and tear. They usually appear eventually and result from cutlery abrasion. The cutlery abrasion traces can be easily removed with conventional non-abrasive cleaning fluids such as those used for the hob or with a special porcelain cleaner.
‘Dishwasher safe’ means that regular washing in the dishwasher will have no effect on the look or quality of the product. ‘Suitable for dishwashers’ means that the product can be regularly washed in the dishwasher without this affecting its functionality. However, in the latter case chemical, thermal and mechanical strain caused by the dishwasher may in the long term lead to wear and tear or changes in the product. Further information can be found in our ‘Material and Product Information’ which is available as a free download in the ‘Product range/Material information’ section. Please ensure that you follow the instructions of the dishwasher manufacturer (= instructions for use/handbook).

The fine, reticular lines or crazes are characteristc for the material ceramic and generally occur to ceramic articles with a so-called porous body, such as earthenware. Such crazes usually do not represent a quality defect. In order to get a smooth, impermeable and mechanically resistant surface, the articles are coated with a waterproof, glass hard glaze. As this glaze initially becomes viscous while being fired, every item would be inseparably baked to the ground with its base during firing. For this reason, the base - mostly at the bottom - cannot be glazed. The normal use of the tableware inevitably leads to water permeating the unglazed area. In case of great temperature variations, as they especially occur in the dishwasher, the absorbed water extends in the pores. The glaze cannot resist the arising tension and thus gets the typical crazes. However, these crazes cannot be permeated by any kind of liquid or substance. In case of external damage such as finest pinholes or cracks, an impermeable body, as of (fine) stoneware and porcelain, can also be permeated by water causing the body to expand under the glaze. In this case, crazes can also happen to a dense body.
Ceramic tableware with a so-called porous body can - under certain conditions - be infested by mildew. If a lot of water permeates and cannot evaporate under airy conditions, mildew can occur. Especially in the dishwasher, tableware is exposed to water for a long time so that the body can soak up a lot of it. Mildewing is additionally supported by plates and cups mostly being stacked in the cupboard with only the upper items coming to regular use, whereas those at the bottom often have to sustain the soaked moisture for a long time without being used.
