As an international company with a range of more than 4,500 glass, porcelain and ceramic products and accessories, the team with 250 employees supplies large retailers such as supermarkets, big stores, boutiques and of course furniture stores. Ritzenhoff & Breker is hence one of the market leaders in terms of the laid table, home and kitchen accessories.

In 1810, during years of an economic dawn, Georgius Liborius Ritzenhoff founded the company as a wholesale trade for glassware. At that time, horse-drawn wagons transported glass and ceramic products as far as to Silesia and Poland. Pioneering spirit and good load of commercial daringness characterize the development of the company. By and by, the business was expanded and the range enlarged. While once horse waggons, pinfeathers and comptoirs constituted the business environment, today computers and state-of-the-art technologies ensure a trouble-free workflow. In 1976, the business was moved from the Bad Driburg city centre to the industrial park Herste. By now, the sixth generation is already committed to the long-established business.

Up to 12 months pass from the product development by the in-house designers until the first presentation of a collection. With sufficient advance time, trend scouts first work out the colour and product trends to be expected, which are then transferred into corresponding products by the designers. When the design of a collection is completed, there are always sample parts manufactured. Once all products of a collection match perfectly, mass production is started.

800 40-feet containers and over 1,000 truck loads with products of Asian and European suppliers arrive in the Ritzenhoff & Breker warehouse every year. More than 40 years ago, Wolfgang Breker has done pioneer work: in the 1960s, he already established international contacts, among others to the Italian, Romanian, Asian resourcing markets. This turned Ritzenhoff & Breker to one of the first movers of globalization in its branch of trade. In the course of decades, a successful mutual trust between Ritzenhoff & Breker and its international partners has resulted.

A high-rack warehouse with 38,000 pallet slots is located on the 75,000 square-metre sized company premises in Herste. Modern technology and perfect services ensure the processing from order taking to the quick delivery around the globe. Ritzenhoff & Breker supplies 42 countries whereas the sales focus lies in Europe. Nearly all products are distributed via Bad Driburg. Internationally-operating logistics companies make sure that the goods punctually reach the customers.
